DIRECT AND AGRESSIVE 4-BATTEN SAIL WITH INSTANT POWER DELIVERY
OVERVIEW
RIDER TYPE: The Aggressive Charger & Big Air Specialist. Developed for active riders who like clear power in their hands and prefer to sail powered up on the limit. It suits sailors who look at challenging conditions as a clear opportunity to ride faster and fly higher. The sail handles anything from super-windy Pozo to crazy North Sea to big and epic down-the-line Hawaii.
On-Wave Behaviour: The pull comes slightly from the back hand, providing continuous feedback to the rider whether wave riding or jumping. In turns, this translates to drive both off the bottom and through the top turn, which is useful in onshore setups or less ideal wave shapes.
Aerial Control: In the air, the steady power point and direct response keep it controllable and reactive. It focuses heavily on control, especially in its upper wind range.
TECHNICAL
Foil Feel Geometry: Slightly higher aspect ratio than the FLOW. The FLASH gives you a stable, foil-like feeling in the hands, granting good stability and a very direct rider-sail connection.
Rigid Framework: The front luff panel is constructed from X-Ply with a pre-shaped profile. This creates a stable power source that is always available and ready to accelerate.
Extended Power Release: To manage all this raw power, the leech profile is more open, helping to release excess energy efficiently. This allows you to push hard without losing control. Built to last: Strong reinforcements and durable X-Ply window to survive heavy wipeouts.
FLASH 4Wave HD // STRIKE LIKE LIGHTNING.
FEATURES
The FLASH is influenced by the high winds pf Gran Canaria and offers outstanding high-end control and drive for sailors who want instant power delivery.
An X-Ply Dacron panel and a pre-shaped profile create constant drive and loads of power for riders who love to go extreme. More luff curve adds extra tension to the sail body for a controlled ride - even in the most brutal and windy conditions. Combined with the outstanding durability that our brand is known for, the result is a sail built to perform session after session - no compromises.
BLACKLINE HD WINDOW Super strong and light 4mil "Blackline HD" X-Ply window for perfect visibility.. The black yarn reduces light reflections and distractions, resulting in a clearer view that simply allows you to ride better and safer.
ADAPTIVE WIND RELEASE ( AWR ) Discover our unique Clew System: Switch seamlessly between IN and OUT configurations to gain extra twist while maintaining a full front draft. Combine with dual clew height options for complete control over your rig's handling and style.
AEROFIT BOOM POSITIONING ( ABP ) Reduces open area at the leading edge to boost aerodynamic efficiency and wind range. Limits sail movement at the boom area for improved gust stability and faster rotations. (Open a minimum of 2 sections to mount boom).
LOAD CONTROL LAYOUT A unique concept for defining the sail profile (from front to rear) using an interacting material mix to control load, flex and twist across the entire sail body. Rather than relying on singular load lines, the whole sail functions as one intelligent entity.
Adaptive front section with custom load behaviour to support the individual sail characteristics best:
Soft Dacron for smooth On/Off behaviour on the FLOW.
5mil X-Ply for instand drive and agression on the FLASH. Double Dacron for balanced power and a blend of FLOW and FLASH on the FUEL. Light and medium stiff 4mil body for a neutral loading behavior and optimal strength-to-weight ratio. Ultra light 2.5mil sail top for reduced swing weight. Stiff 5mil X-Ply frame at the leech for clean air release, better twist control, and added structural strength.
The unmatched aerodynamics and fine-tuned material load distribution of our Intelligent Load Control concept deliver added agility, more top speed, improved release and mighty low-end, while extending the overall wind range.
POWER PANEL OUTLINE Pairs a wide center outline with a short boom and narrow head. The "power panel" above the boom catches cleanest airflow for controlled drive, while the narrow head ensures clean top release. As a result you get an extented windrange with mighty low-end acceleration, excellent clew-first stability and a very balanced and light handling.
FREEFLOW BATTENS Customised batten curves and batten angles adjusted to each sail sail optimise the sail behaviour in both riding and jumping. Stiffer battens above the boom lock the power forward and flatten the trailing edge to reduce drag in gusty conditions. An optimised 40mm batten width with panel overlap makes the sail perfectly symmetric and saves weight. Our new, shorter batten tensioners reduce swing weight even more.
INTEGRITY SHIELD CONCEPT A lightweight protection concept engineered to maximize durability while eliminating unnecessary bulk. By combining targeted Kevlar reinforcements and tailored padding, high-wear areas are fully shielded without compromising the sail's weight or responsiveness.
Hydrophobic Kevlar Protection in high-wear areas to protect your sail while always keeping it light in the water. Streamlined EVA-padded Tack Fairing for optimal impact protection at the board deck.
SMART RIGGING AIDS Visial rigging guide width "Power" and "Control" markers to define your optimal downhaul trim. Pulley threading guide for quicker gear setup.
PRO TIPS
SIMON THULE (Pro Windsurfer) "The Flash allows me to sail more powered up and on the limit, which allows me to jump higher whilst still staying in control. The additional drive through turns really helps me to keep speed better when the conditions are not perfect. It’s the perfect sail for competing around the world in all conditions."
JOHN SKYE (R&D) "The FLASH is influenced by the high winds at my home spot on Gran Canaria but works equally well all around the globe. If you like to ride overpowered this sail is the perfect match. It helps you to gain that extra meter of height in your jumps and deliveres constant drive on the wave. Make sure to apply sufficient downhaul tension to bring the sail to live."
