PYRO PARAWING
PYRO is VAYU's answer to the parawing: ultralight, clean in expression and built to be packed away and "re-deployed" again - and again, and again.
Short bridles, premium construction and our new Bridge Bar create a parawing that feels instantly familiar to those of you who have wingfoiled with VAYU: direct, calm and predictable. With the PYRO you can go upwind with confidence, pack it away in seconds and surf downwind with nothing in your hands.
Developed and tested in the Columbia River Gorge, Fuerteventura and Hawaii, the PYRO is made for riders who want less gear in the way – and more contact with the ocean.

Bridles & lines
PYRO's bridle system is built around one goal: maximum control with minimal complexity.
Short central bridles (approx. 1.3–1.5 m), adapted to each size for fast "kill", clean recovery and less tangling. A shorter overall system allows for easier stowage and easier relaunch.
Pure A/B/C/D layout with brake straps (Br). Five attachment points per rib distribute the load evenly across the fabric without overcomplicating the line pattern.
Separate central A-lines and outer A-lines. The central A-lines are grouped for efficient kill and retracting, while the outer A-lines are separate so the tips can flag and relieve pressure. This makes it easier to pull the wing towards you under load.
Smooth-running, color-coded lines. DSL70 and PPSLS lines with clear color coding make sorting and orientation intuitive when unpacking and packing.
Straight, snag-free line runs. From the central A-strap out to the canvas, the lines are kept as straight and clean as possible to reduce friction when you slide your hand up the wing.
The result is a bridle system that feels easy in the hands, but is fine-tuned for use in real-world conditions: less thinking, fewer tangling – more riding.
Bridge line architecture
Each rib group has its own leader line on the “bridge”, so line tension increases smoothly and sequentially as you sheet in. No pulleys, sliders or uneven loads.
Full grip surface along the entire bar
With the central hardware removed from the hand area, you can slide and move your hands freely anywhere along the bar without hitting a stop.
Curved, molded bar ends
Reduce line wrapping around the bar and give your fingers a comfortable and secure reference point – especially when riding one-handed or when the wing is flagged.
Short, size-adjusted bar lengths
The bar length is scaled to the canvas size and kept compact to make stowing on foil and packing down easier, even on larger sizes.
Bar lengths: 2.5 = 275 mm, 3.2 = 315 mm, 4.0 = 350 mm, 5.0 = 390 mm.
Smooth angle of attack range
The bridge configuration provides a long and usable sheeting range: you can apply power or release it without the sheet stalling immediately.
Easy maintenance
Every part of the PYRO bridle and bar system is designed to be replaceable. Bridge lines, leader lines – everything can be dismantled using simple lark's head loops and knots.
Designer's Statement
Over a year in development, the VAYU PYRO represents the latest in parawing technology. The canopy shape and moderate aspect ratio have been fine-tuned for real upwind performance, power, and smooth, predictable control. Short bridles and the Bridge Bar control system reduce clutter and complexity, improve handling and make the wing easy to control, quick to pack away and reliable to redeploy. This is the level of performance we expect from a parawing today – and where we believe the category is headed.
